A vintage set I put together of 3 sci-fi novels by Tarzan author, Edgar Rice Burroughs. The books are all from the 1970s: one hardback from The Science Fiction Club (1971), and two paperbacks: #1 and #2 from the Ballantine Martian Series (1973 & ’74). I’ve not read them, but was attracted to them by their subject matter (mysterious Mars!), their author (ERB) and their art (in the hardback only). Frank Frazetta’s illustrations in black & white are a vast measure of coolness, even by today’s techy standards. So far, (as least so far as I know), the Mars Rover hasn’t found any Giant White Apes on the red planet (as Frazetta saw them), but exploring the Lost Sea of Korus in the Valley Dor still awaits. And then, who knows?
Hmmm, very interesting.
